Baby Bump and Bailey

Jes tells me that I need to update the ol' blog with a baby H post so update the blog with a baby H post I will!

Pregnancy is going great. We are almost 23 weeks so we'll soon hit that 6 month mark! Time is flying and I really need to find some time to get bustin' a move with making my nursery bedding. Darin has started on making the crib. I am SO excited that our baby will sleep in a crib made by his/her papa. So, so fun. It's mission style and will be painted white.

I'm feeling a TON of movement. The kicks, flops and punches (or babynastics as Jes refers it to) are getting much stronger! Our midwives didn't see that an ultrasound was needed since we don't want to find out the sex. Guess we'll wait until we birth this baby to see what he/she looks like! We trust that Baby H is growing well.

Here's an updated pic of my baby bump..

Yeah, not much of a bump. Everyday it seems like I'm bigger and then we take this picture and you can't see my belly much at all. Oh well.. I will remember these days when I'm huge and wish that my budha belly was a baby bump again! To date I have gained 6lbs so there is growth! Just can't tell much.

Finding out what my sister is having helped us not knowing go easier. =) She is having twin BOYS! Her life was going to change drastically with a baby. Then they found out there was two... NOW they find out that they are 2 boys! She will not rest for the next 18 years of her life! So, so exciting!

Bailey update... many of you received the sad, sad email I sent out on Monday. Yep, my beloved Bailey cat is with my mama keeping her lap warm in heaven. =( He took a huge dive for the worse in the past 2 weeks. He stopped eating again and started messing in the house. Everyone I talked to that knew something about animals said that he was either going through kidney or liver failure. Since we'd went way above the vet budget that didn't exist, putting him down was our only choice. I'm doing much better today but it's been rough.

I miss him so much.

Monday night I was alone for about an hour and a half and was so lonely without either of my boys there. I didn't know how much company Bailey provided until he wasn't around. But as I have said, Bailey HATED kids so maybe this is God's way of saving us from an accident between Bailey and the baby… a cut, a scar, an infection or Bailey spending most of his time locked in a room because he wasn't nice to the baby.

So yeah, I'm sad but have to think of the companionship through many rough times, all the laughs, the shaving incident and snugglies Bailey provided for 5 years. Miss you, Bailey cat

Darcy, look at that cute belly bump! LoL. You look soooo tiny for being six months. You could not be any cuter. Seriously.

So awesome that Darin is making the crib for Baby H. And I truly admire you both for being able to wait to find out what sex the baby is. That takes serious patience!

Sorry to hear about Bailey.

Hey Dace... good post - I love all the updates on Baby H (especially as an honorary aunt). I have a fun Bailey memory for you: I just came across a pic of he and Mayo and remembered the picture that Erin took of the two of them right after Billy got shaved - the one where Mayo is sniffing his rear! Do you remember what she put on the back, "Bailey, is that you my love?" Good times with a great kitty. I'm proud of you for writing about him. I am sure Lindy is glad to have him!!! Love ya!

so sad to hear about the Bailey story, but i guess he's better of now, no more pain and maybe your mother is very very happy with him now. and as you told, if the baby doesn't like baby's.... that's even worse right? i can only imagine how much you miss the cool cat.

Hey Darcy-
Sooo sorry to hear about Bailey.....loosing a pet that you love is so hard. And while you keep telling yourself that it's just a pet, they are your company, your friend, and it's ok to be sad. Glad to hear that things are going well with baby H.... you are so darn crafty I just can't handle it- both of parent H's. Geesh. have a great week....xoxo
