my sister rocks hard core

 Posted by Picasa

My sister is the coolest ever.

Guess what she did today?

On her school's morning annoucements that are on TV? (She's a middle school Spanish Teacher)

And her HUSBAND assisted?

See that long hair she posseses in the page above? Heck yeah.. you guessed it.. Locks of Love recieved yet another 10 inches of hair!! Whoo-hoo!

She's been brewing a scheme for a couple of months now to cut her hair in front of the entire school. They have a school t-shirt that everyone in the entire school wore today to support her. She gave a speech on mom and her heart behind growing out her hair and then told the kids how they could donate their hair as well. She already had 2 teachers tell her that they would also like to donate and one of her kids already has.

HOW COOL IS THIS!!!??? She's even thinking of getting the area High School's cosmetology program involved to have a hair cutting day. This makes me so happy. =)

I don't have a picture of the chop, yet. I'm sure we'll take pics this weekend when she's home. And I can't wait to see Andrew (bil) chop her hair on TV!!

So you know what this means.. looks like quite a few peeps are doing it!!! Grow your hair out and CHOP IT for Locks of Love!!! It's a new trend!

What a great thing, Darcy! I donated 11 inches of my hair in 2004 to Locks of Love. I'm growing my hair out to do it again. I plan on doing it as much as I possibly can in my life. I love the wave of kindess that your beautiful gesture has created! ;)

Here's a layout I did about my hair cutting:

That is so awesome! You guys are starting a revolution. I've been growing mine for the past year for Locks of Love, but I must admit that lately I am tempted to ditch the plan...my super thick hair is turning into quite the 'fro! But every time I read your blog, I am inspired once again. So, thank you. It's something I've wanted to do since I was in high school, and I WILL do it this time!
