I love this...
Darin Jay reading to Adie. She loves it. He loves it. Mommy loves the chance to make dinner without a baby on her hip.
It's a good deal all the way around.
We all get a good giggle too. That book is muy, muy hilarious. Only Aunt Dina is laughing right now...

And she tried some carrots...
And loved them! Yesterday was my first time of making my own baby food. My idea was to start to stockpile some Adie food in the freezer starting with carrots. And then I let her taste my carrot finger. And she loved it. So I gave her some and she ate about 1/4 cup worth! She's just 5 months but has again been having problems sleeping through the night so I asked Doc sil Natalie and she suggested that more solid food might help her sleep.
Now I will take any suggestions on how to prohibit her from putting her hands in her mouth as she eats. I try to hold her hands along with the spoon and the bowl but God forgot to give me three hands. So carrot ended up on her tummy, up her nose, on her diaper and in between her toes. Where carrots should be, of course! As you can see, I strip her down. So yeah, I'll take any suggestions!

Oh, and a good story. The other day I felt something down my shirt.. between the girls.I yelled at Darin,
"There's a bug down my shirt!"
I jumped and reached down there to find that my girls were touching. You know, REAL CLEAVAGE. First time in my life. I wasn't even pushing them together to create Darcy-made cleavage. It was a proud day

Darce, I totally understand the hillariousness of Skippy-jOn jones....we have that book. I love it.
The carrot thing is great, I have heard the same thing about solid foods. Good luck, I understand the no sleep at night thing too. You start to loose your mind.
oh i LOVE skippy jon jones books...
and that carrot covered baby!
too cute!
My favorite time of the day is when we read to Alexander before bedtime! I can't wait until he actually knows that we're reading a book : )
Adie is a cutie pie...even when she is orange from smothering herself in carrots!!
haha, LOVE the pics reading. so cool. and totally love the carrot-loving girl. my tip: keep it this way! Sanne always did the same but before she turned one she eat herself with a spoon!! ofcourse it got messy. really messy, but when she managed to do it herself in a neat way, i had my hands free to eat myself! that beats feeding your baby like, for the coming 2 / 3 years, like some mommys do. so i say: yeay for messy :). And stripping her down is okay right?
and congrats on your cleavage. haha. crazy girl!
i dare you to make a page about that!!!
xoxo

You're so funny!! LOL!
Not sure how to help with the fingers in the mouth... my kids did it too. I think I tried distracting them by handing them a spoon.
She's beautiful!
Darcy--I took a link to your blog and got stuck in here this morning with your sweet family!
Just wanted to let you know your photos made me smile!
So cute! Love the pics and I'm totally loving her face when she's enjoying her carrots! Congrats on the girls gaining.......too bad they just don't do it on their own for no reason what-so-ever!!! ;-)
So cute! She's going to be reading by the time she's 2! Love that pic of her covered in carrots. She looks very pleased with herself. :)
Hahaha! SkippyJonJones is muy muy fabiloso! Hahaha...I loved the carrot pic too. She is hilarious. Oh, and so glad you put the cleavage story up. It cracks me up and I've been waiting for it to appear since I stopped by. Love you and so glad I got to stop by last week.
"REAL CLEAVAGE", hahaha!! you're so funny. looks like Adie does definitely enjoy the book and the carrots! love her little orange face! and i agree, stripping a baby down is easiest :) my babies ate plenty of meals in just a diaper!
Emma eats in just a diaper all the time! I think she'll be doing that and wearing a bib until she's 3, lol! She's such a messy eater. Just the way it is, I guess. :)
You are crazy!! The cleavage thing=hilarious. So love to read your stories.
She's so cute all carrot covered!
