Joya Jae is 6 months old!!!

WHERE DID THE TIME GO???

My baby is 1/2 a year old already! I can't even believe it. This is going way too fast. =(

I'll share some of her 6 month photo shots and give you some tid-bits of our little lady. She is so, so sweet. I think she's one of the sweetest baby there ever was. (Besides my Adie, of course!)

**We had her well-baby check up the other day and she's a peanut! She weighs in at 13lb 5oz.. less than the 10th percentile for her age group. She's also only 24 inches long which puts her in the 8th percentile for height. Maybe I have a gymnast on my hands??? Woot-woot!

**She sleeps from 8pm until 4am right now. Ever since the ear infection she's been getting up at 4am. Goes right back to sleep after some nursin' but I need to work on omitting that feeding. It's hard to let her cry it out when I know if I feed her she'll go right back to sleep!

**Takes 2-3 naps.

**Can *almost* sit up on her own. I can leave her for about 10 seconds and then she tips over.

**Has a toothless grin.. as seen in the picture above.

**Is super close to crawling. She's up on all 4's rocking like a mad woman. Not sure I'm ready for a crawler yet!

**Is supposed to be eating 3 meals along with her 5 nursings a day but really isn't a fan of food. The Dr. wants this because she's so tiny. We've been trying for a few months and she could care less. She gets about 5 bites in and then cries if that spoon gets anywhere close to her mouth!

**Um, is anyone going to pick that apple up?

**Makes THE funniest noises! Her new one is a Darth Vador kinda sound and it cracks us up every time. I called dad the other day and had her do it before I said hi and he said, "What was that!?" Um, that's your sweet little grand-daughter perfecting her Darth Vador sound!
**Sleeps on her belly 100% of the time.. and lets you know it if she's on her back!

**Doesn't take off the massive bows and flowers I stick on her head. Amen.

**Has super funny bowed legs. She takes this after her father.

**LOVES to laugh!

**Will stop crying or fussing if you sing her her song...

I have the Joya, Joya, Joya, Joya down in my heart!
Where?

Down in my heart!

Where?

Down in my heart!

She's going to have a complext that that song was made for her! And EVERYONE knows it!
We love you, Joya Jae!

I totally agree that the 2nd babies are so incredibly sweet and laid back!! And yes the time seems to go way too fast with 'em too! She is such an adorable baby girl! Happy 6 mo Joya!!

She is adorable! Love the bows...I'm thinking of making one of those for Amaya. We'll see if she even wears it. She's not a fan of things on her head/in her hair even at two. (She would have never made it as an amish girl...LOL)

She is just a doll! I love the big, gauty (sp) headbands all of the baby girls around us are sporting these days. I sure wish Luke would have "let" me put them on Lauren. If we have another girl, I'm going to push for it! :) She's just precious and looks like a ball of fun!

Hi Darcy! I just started reading your blog a couple months ago and I love your beautiful photography and reading about your precious little ones ;) It looks like you live in a GORGEOUS place! those fall leaves are to die for! I don't normally comment on blogs, but after reading this one, I wanted to comment... I am in "school" to become a lactation consultant and we just learned that 30% of babies calories from nursing come during the night (night nursings). So a lot of times when people push their babies to sleep through the night- and let them cry it out-- they really need to be getting those calories/fat to grow. There have been a lot of cases of "failure to thrive" that pediatricians are seeing due to mom's using programs like Babywise. I'm not saying it doesn't work for some babies/moms-- just saying that in theory if babies wake up in the night and want to nurse, it's most likely because they are hungry and need the food. You may want to consider this, especially since she's a lil pea :) A cute one at that! And to reassure you, she won't always wake up to nurse in the night... this is a short phase in the grand scheme of things ;)
Take care!
