Prom...

12 years later.. Darin and I had FUN at a prom! Saturday night we headed to the Junior/Senior prom with the kids from Darin's school. I don't even remember what my dates name was for our senior prom and Darin's date refused to dance with him. He asked her 5 times and got turned down 5 times. So yeah, we were due for a good experience at a prom! We only had to wait 12 years but we had a blast!
Had a consultation with my fashion friend, Shelly and bff Erin to make sure the Wilma Flinstone neclace was a "go"...
Raided my mom's 80's jewlery I inherited for that one. She always said if you keep something long enough it will come back in style. We laughed at her in high school when she kept wearing "petal pushers".. low and behold "capri's" came back in style a few years later and are still around. That mom.. such a fashionista! Those of you who knew her are laughing right now. =)
Anywho, it's not every prom picture that includes an almost 3 year old giving the monkey face and your one year old holding onto daddy's tie. Hilarious!
And we got into a bit of traffic getting into the prom. Had an Audi convertible in front of us and a Hummer behind us.

Hmm. Wonder why no one asked us to borrow our minivan? It has a DVD player! They could have watched some Hermie and Friends on the way there! We would have washed the ol' grocery getter for them too! So weird no one asked...
Asked Darin if we were taking the van or the Ranger that night.. he said, "The van.. power locks." Man we are classy!
Danced with the principal's wife, Amanda, and got caught "walking it out" as the prom photographer shot away. Sure hope that one makes the yearbook! But I didn't turn down my hubby for a dance even once. Pretty sure this prom experience topped his senior prom. That's not saying much, tho!
Had a blast.. there are some perks of being a high school teacher's wife! Get to go to prom AND get him home in the summers! Life is good. =)
