Confessions...

Have a few confessions for ya.. some fun, some serious.  =)  Here we go!

Confession #1: I am an Aldi junkie.  I love their skin care (Arbonne knock-off), rising crust frozen pizza and their knock-off "Flat-outs" for my daily turkey roll-up at lunch .  But what do I buy 2 bags of EVERY week? What do I eat every day at lunch with my knock off flat outs and turkey?

Their baked BBQ chips.

Um, AMAZING!  I wish I could say that the girls eat gobs and gobs of them and that's mostly why we need 2 bags a week.  But no.. I eat way too many of them!  It's yours truly.

Confession #2:  I have been having SERIOUS issues with my contacts.  I have worn gas permeable contacts since I was like 10. I am blind as a bat and the Dr. told me I was wearing hard contacts in like the 5th grade cuz my astigmatism was so bad. The past 2 months have been HORRIBLE with my contacts. I got new ones in May and they were so gunked up by September that the eye Dr. gave me new ones because the build up really shouldn't be that bad in 5 months.  But the 2-week-old new ones are doing the same thing. =(  Can't see out of them at all.. it's like big ol' smudge marks are on my eyes and I can't see.  But I ran my own little experiment the other day.  When I don't wear eye makeup they are a million times better. =/  I think it's part my eye liner and mascara.  Um, do you think I'm gunna stop wearing my eye get-up?  Heck no!  I guess vanity comes before blindness.  =/  Slap my hand.  Or take my mascara away?

Confession #3:  I make a mean chocolate chip cookie.  I know this.. I bring them to gatherings and am kinda known for my cookies.  Like the other day I sent one home in a cute baggie with a ribbon for all of Adie's classmates and two moms texted me that same day and told me that they hid them from their kids and ate them during their nap time.  LOVE IT!  People have asked me for the recipe.  I have only given it out to few of the lucky ones.  Those few being before I realized that they were my claim to fame cookies.  So consider yourself lucky if you have the recipe (Shelly and Dina). Know that I add a bit more flour than what your recipe states. =) Darin thinks thinks it's so cocky of me.. a cockiness that he enjoys because it means he has my cookies in the freezer at all times! How ya like them cookies?

Confession #4:  Most of you have read about my past.  Want to know my confession about this one?  Most of the time I've totally forgotten that it's happened. Like, seriously.  I forget that I was married before.. forget that I was abandoned.  When I tell others of my story it feels just like that.. a story.  It doesn't feel like it happened to me.  What a COOL God that has forgiven me and forgotten and has also allowed ME to forgive myself and given me a horrible memory and I forget!  The horrible memory is true but I did go through a huge healing time in my life where I had allowed God to forgive me but I wouldn't forgive myself.  Don't worry.. we worked that out.  =)  God's grace is so amazing. Didn't know how deep and wide His grace was until I went through that hardship.  God blessed me with a husband now that loves me with his whole heart and also forgets that I had baggage.  A husband that doesn't even know what my first married last name was.  He doesn't care.  We serve a cool God.  =)

Confession #5: And I can't leave you without pictures!  That's the last confession.. I am HORRIBLE about taking every day pictures of my own girls when I get so busy with my photography business!  I think I might do the picture-a-day challenge for my New Year's Resolution.  =)

Here's Joya's new hobby of turning over our bar stools and standing in them. She can't stand to see a bar stool right-side-up!

Adie was NOT feeling me taking pictures of her.. so when I said, "Adie..  can you look for the circle on mommy's camera?"

She took that request as "make my own circles and look thru them".  =/  Silly girl!

And the poor doggie doesn't get talked about enough.. he's such a good pup.  And if he could confess he would say...
"I hate my bangs!  Someone please tell Darcy to cut them!  I can't see thru the bangs!"

I must confess I am an Aldi's junkie too! Loving all of the Christmas treats they have out now. We buy two bags of the Fit and Active cheese flavored rice puffs each week. Our whole family loves them and they are so addicting! In case you haven't tried them in between your BBQ chips, they taste just like cheetos but are something like 70 calories for 9 puffs. We buy nearly all of our groceries there and every week I walk out with a full shopping cart and amazed at how inexpensive it all is!

Love it! It's amazing to see the big and small things that God does through each person. I loved reading your testimony too, I had eating disorder struggles too...in college. Grateful for a God that loves me no matter how I look :)...on the vanity note, maybe try a different bottle of mascara??? I wear contacts too, and I notice that if I don't change my mascara that it can start to make my eyes irritated. Sometimes just buying a new one helps (I think you are supposed to change it every 3-4 months anyways) I can bring you some cinnamon rolls if you want to trade cookies for something different sometime :) -Lael

You got it, Lael! I'll swap you a cinnamon roll for a cookie.. I've always wanted to make a mean cinnamon roll but I'm intimidated by yeast.. confession #6. =)

I think my mascara is pretty new.. but now that I say that I don't remember when I got it! HA! Good suggestion!

Loved your post... so funny about the eye make up thing :) I too went through a bag of the barbecue chips wayyy to fast. Justin LOVES them too. I use the Aldi mascara and struggle to get it off at night without making me look like I've been beat up with two horrible blag eyes. It's not even the waterproof! I am sure Justin thinks I am so fine when I walk into the bedroom looking completely WT :) Does it do that for you?! Other than that, I Love it!

I only use Aldi's skin care line.. never tried the mascara. Wait.. LOVE their lip balms. =) I use Mary Kay eye liner and one of the drug store mascara's.. I'm gunna try a different brand of mascara and see if that helps. =)

I enjoyed reading your confessions Darce. I was cracking up about the eye make-up! I hope you can find a contact-friendly mascara. Someone must have invented that by now, right? Also, I want to try one of your cookies pronto. And I'll get you that bread recipe and the things I've learned thru trial and error thus far about working with yeast... I am still not totally comfortable with it but I enjoy trying new recipes and learning do's and don'ts as I go! :)
P.S. Reading #4 made me smile. He is so good.

Darcy- No one can be blinder than me and I had an astigmatism also and when I lived in Indy an eye doctor said, "Why have you continued to wear gas perms all these years?" And I said, "Because my eye sight is so bad..." and he told me that I could manage with soft contacts that my vision might not be "as clear" far away, but that it would be fine. I've had soft contacts for about 6 years, and I would never go back. You need to check and be sure....because the first time I put in a soft pair of contacts it was like a sweet slice of heaven compared to the shards of glass.... and maybe I can't read a road sign as soon, but I can leave my contacts in past 7pm :-)
