Wow.. I am...

BORED! The past few weeks I have been super busy at work and suddenly I have nothing to do. Bloggin' is the perfect cure for boredom! I could clean my desk or something crazy like that.. but seriously, why? I am, however, making my to do list for tomorrow night's annual GYMNASTICS TEAM SLEEPOVER! So exciting. Every year I have a sleepover for my high school gymnasts. This is big year #3. First year, totally fun.. we made shirts to wear at State because one of our seniors made it there all-around. Last year for dinner I gave them crazy utensils, plates and things to drink out of. Example, one girl would have a whisk to eat with, her plate was a humungo serving dish, and her cup was a vase. So fun. This year, I am SO super non-creative. I've done the whole mystery menu thing with my youth group girls and they were grossed out by the names I gave food.. puke and bile must not have been appetizing! I'm thinking about putting down a paper table cloth and having them write good things about all their team members. We'll bring it out again at next year's sleepover and see what we wrote. Hmm.. that's a little boring compared to eating with a whisk. They really thought that was hilarious. If anyone has ANY ideas, let me know. I'm going to fail this year if I don't come up with anything.

Speaking of my gymnasts, look at them! Aren't they cute? These are only half of them. They are total camera hogs. I was talking so someone not paying attention to what they were doing and when they shouted, "Darce! Take a picture of us!" And they were in this pyramid. They see a camera and instantly pose.

Oh gosh, look at this pic! Story.. they ALL pee a little bit when they tumble. Yeah,I never remember DRIBBLING when I tumbled. So, I told them that they needed to do kegal exercises. So this is them practicing their kegals. I thought about it later that night and it dawned on me that kegal exercises are for sex, right?! Oh my gosh.. I am a horrible coach and even worse.. a failure of a mentor. So I looked it up and kegal exercises means: "A kegel is the name of a pelvic floor exercise, named after Dr. Kegel who discovered the exercise. These muscles are attached to the pelvic bone and act like a hammock, holding in your pelvic organs. To try and isolate these muscles trying stopping and starting the flow of urine." Praise Jesus! I'm not teaching these girls bad things. Whew. I'll have more stories throughout the season because these girls are HILARIOUS!

I have done a scrapbooking first for myself. I have a page 90% completed and it's only lacking one thing.. the picture. Has one totally gone off the scrapbooking deep-end when they create pages without posession of the picture? I guess there's always effers.. some of those don't have pics, but anywho. I have the pic on order and know what it looks like. It's of our recent loss of Jim, my father-in-law. I can't wait until it's finished and I get to share it with all of you and with Darin's family next week when we see them for Christmas. Stay tuned.. I will hopefully post it and blog about it Monday-ish.

aww, your a gymnastics coach? so so fun!!

for your sleepover you could do a backwards dinner - dessert first, then main course, then salad, then apps (or something like that)... just a thought... You could also decorate plain white pillow cases with puff paint and stuff. our water polo team did that one year when we went to state. ya, so... that's all i've got.

have fun!!

toooooooo freakin funny with the kegels! ohmygod, i was laughin. instead of paper towels you can use a table clothe and crayons, then just iron it and the crayons will stay on. my mom did that at all my bday parties growing up, so fun. but i guess that ideas a little late, considering that its friday night and probably mid-party........... can't wait to hear about it, and see all the pics!!!! : )
