Whoah, what a weekend!

Still recouping. We'll do a slight recap here...

Friday night was Sectional dinner with the team. SO fun!! This year I was in charge of our crafty-make something project. So what did I have them do? One guess? Okay, I know this is surprising, but we did a scrapbook page for the cover of their 05-06 newspaper clippings book! I'm super proud of them this year with achieving goals, being good sports and such, but gosh, the sight of them totally enjoying creating a page just about did me in. We had so much fun eating and laughing and creating. I am going to miss these girls SO much after our season has ended.

Here's the picture of them all showing off their pages.. aren't they talented?

Our hard work paid off and resulted in our ADVANCEMENT TO REGIONALS!! Yeah! It was a very close meet but we ended up finishing 3rd. (The top 3 teams get to move onto Regionals). Last year was the first year in 30-some years (that our school has had gymnastics) that we did not advance to regionals. We vowed never to let that happen again and these girls worked their butts off to make it happen! All the girls did such a good job and we're so extremely proud. This Friday we'll be traveling to Valpo. So fun.

Sunday we had the G3 (G-cubed which stands for "Girls Gone Godly".. they made it up.. isn't that cute!) Spa day. So fun! I talked to them about body image and gave them a little of my eating disorder testimony and then we set them loose in the salon. We did pedicures, body scrubs, facials and ear wax candles to name a few. Has anyone ever done the ear wax candles? So gross but completely cool at the same time! It's so cool to see what gross things come out of your ears. We had a few new faces so I was extremely excited that this group is growing!

What was I not so excited about? That my throat was en feugo for the entire weekend. So I decided to stay home yesterday to fight it and catch up on rest. Guess what I found out? #1, Darin is the cutest, sweetest hubby when I am sick. He called all the time making sure I was doing okay, brought me a movie and babied me all day. #2, Darin does not think that Days of our Lives is a quality show. What?

During one of the Marlana and John segments, he started making fun of them by saying,

"Why doesn't she remember John? Was she in a horrible car wreck which left her in a comma when her sister tried to take her husband..."

I interrupted him by getting the facts straight.

"No, she was kidnapped and placed on this island & Stephano erased her memory. This was after she had a demon in her.. don't worry, they got it out."

He couldn't stop laughing. He said he couldn't have even imagined a story that stupid.. well duh! That's why we watch the show.. for some quality stories that we couldn't even dream up.

I also managed to work up a page (or 3) yesterday. My sister said I shouldn't post them cuz then everyone would know that I scrapped on my sick day. #1, scrapping requires no usage of my en fuego throat. #2, Not a very valid concern coming from a teacher that gets 15 personal days, 15 sick days, 2 weeks at Christmas, Spring Break schedules her prep period around Days of our Lives and doesn't work for 3 months in the summer. Let me scrap in peace with my en fuego throat. Just kidding, just kidding Denise!!! Love you!

That LO is cute! I love all the girls using their celly's.

You are correct. You don't have to talk while scrapping.

Days...I know it's crap to watch but I just get sucked in. What I want to know is what's up with Roman? I mean the real Roman? We got the Original Roman, then you got the New Roman, then you got John who thought he was Roman. What's up with that?
Oh sorry, enough about Days.

What DOOL not quality? I've watched it since jr. high. It has become a little harder to watch as I get older though.
So, I tried to post on 2peas and couldn't b/c we can't figure out how to save the scan to jpg. If you have any tips let me know. Thanks and hope you're feeling better. Hey, your going to be up by me this weekend. Good Luck at Regionals.

okay, i don't have that many days every year!!!!!
As I always say, we all know our schedules when we choose a major in college!
I don't schedule my planning around Days, i just got lucky! Days. . . what can i say? Poor Phillip he lost a leg and what he thinks is his child is really not. And what is up with the Austin, Carrie, Sammi, and Lucas mess?

I'm glad you had fun at your spa day and congrats on having a successfull year with your girls!

I heard that candle for your ears works well just haven't had a chance to do it, sounds so weird but I've been told it really works.

I haven't watched Days for awhile but I'm interested to here what's going on with Sean, Mimi and Bella, such a love triangle.

Cute LO, so colorful!!

Okay, so I just stumbled upon your blog from 2peas and I just have to comment. I don't know anyone else beside my college roommate and I who have done ear candleing! That is so funny. I agree with you that it feels so good and it is so disgusting what comes out of there. Ear candlers of the world, unite!
