Rain, Mice & G3

Okay. The rain can go away now. It's rainy for 8 days straight and is supposed to rain through Friday. Our yard is like the amazon.. SERIOUSLY! The yard needs mowed sompin' horrible. Yeah, I don't mow. My brother told me I didn't mow straight when I tried one time and I haven't mowed since. =)

(Yep, it's blurry. My camera isn't so fond of ANY sort of movement once that button has been pushed. Should have warned our fellow cropper before she took the pic!)

Scrap date with Hanni was so FUN!!! I didn't feel as stupid with my comments about hyperventilating when stepping foot in that store. SHE could relate!!! Totally overwhelmed with all the products. We would miander around the store and run into each other and talk each other's ear off about what we'd found.. SO FUN! We chatted the entire time after we finally sat down. Miyagi even showed up.. in picture form, of course!! We had dinner at Panera, scrapped a little more and headed home. It was so fun to hang out with someone that shared this crazy fun hobby!!! Love ya, Hanni!!

I only got the below page done.. I guess crops aren't the most productive thing for me getting pages done?? Then I came home and changed it up & had to sew on it, of course. =)

After the scrap date.. Darin and I took all the breakfast food for my G3 small group over to the church late Sat night so it would be a lighter load on Sunday morning. We weren't the only ones in the church building.. oh yes, we came across a mouse. ON THE COUNTER TOP. Gross. Here's Darin trying to catch it in a waste basket.. no success. It ran around the perimeter of the counter top and dove off the edge only to escape under the frig. What am I doing while all this action is happening? Screaming, but of course. BLOODY MURDER SCREAMING. I know, I know, it's just a mouse but Darin had just told me about a mouse incident the week before. Our tech guy was sitting as the computer and FELT SOMETHING CRAWLING UP HIS LEG. Shook his leg and out ran a mouse. Barf buckets. It was this counter top mouse's mama, I'm sure. This little guy was tiny so he could have crawled all the way up to my bra if he had the chance. GROSS!!

The G3 breakfast went wonderfully!! The entire thing was almost over and I had forgotten to take pictures!! We ended up playing the game that Niki suggested!! Kinda like the Newlywed game but questions for mom's & daughters to answer about each other. It was a riot. Hope I didn't get anyone in trouble by asking the daughters how many peircings they had. Most mom's knew.. but some did not.. OOPS!!!

Speaking of Niki, making a road trip to see her tonight!! It's been years since we've seen each other. We were college buds. Can't wait to see you, girlfriend!!!

Okay, I'm gunna tell you about how sweet my Darin Jay is. He got me a mother's day present. No, no preggers news here and Bailey the fat cat isn't my true son.. he got me a gift because I will be the future mother of our family. He got me this simple black frame with 3 picture slots. He said he got me a plain one so I could embellish it if I'd like.. but intended for the frame to house a picture of my mom, a picture of me and then a picture of our baby. I won't lie, Sunday was really hard for me. Mom's birthday is hard, the anniversary of when she left this world is tough, my parents anniversary is sad.. but I think mother's day makes me miss her the most. The difference between mother's day and my mom's other important days, is that only a small handful of people know of her special days. Mother's Day is just plastered everywhere and yeah, it's tough to escape. Darin took that into consideration and gave me the best mother's day gift ever... something that included my mom, me and our future family. Gosh, am I blessed to have him or what?

Okay, not to end on a sad note, I'll leave you with the other page I started and didn't get finished at Hanni and I's crop!!

I saw this in the 2peas gallery and I have to admit I've been wondering how people were doing that with the letters, too.
You really are so blessed. Darrin rocks...greatest mother's day present ever and your not even a mother yet!

Thought of you this moms day when I was hanging out with my friend bri that lost her mom to cancer about a year and two months ago. She had a tough time this past weekend...so I took her shoe shopping. She loved it.

Great pages. love the colors on both...jet is adorable as always...can't believe he is one. Got to hang with him at church on sunday...so cute..he gave Natalie flowers for mom's day. They had gerbera daisy's at church for the kids to give all the moms.

have a great day.
