Oh yeah, the Fair!!!!

So what do all Northern Indiana-ers do in the last week of July? Um, go to the FAIR, of course!!! Seriously, the fair is HOT stuff around here. No one misses it. It's super cool. Greg's, my bro, band takeaway me opened for Mark Shultz!! It was their biggest gig yet. Since Greg and Natalie had to get equipment set up and the merchandise table ready to go, Darin and I got to watch Jett. Let me tell you about our day at the fair...

Jett was napping during the annual Fair parade. So as soon as he woke up, we decided to walk from our house to the fairgrounds. (We've spent HOURS in fair traffic and wanted to avoid that madness) Well, nap time wasn't quite long enough.. we caught up with the parade. We saw the normal VBS floats, monster trucks and the PT cruiser club. (Confirmation that there's a club for EVERYTHING!) And then there were the amish picketers. Yeah, signs about how you must repent or you are going to hell, the wages of sin is death.. kinda harsh signs. =/ Very strange for a fair parade, if you ask me. So, after we watched the end of the parade, we continued walking. And caught up with the picketers. And then they said, "Hey you.. with the cute red head. PRAISE JESUS and repent!" Jarrett rose up his little hand like he does at the cue of "Praise Jesus!" and they made us walk with them and picket.

And I'm just kidding. Darin told me I had to snap this picture. Isn't it funny? We then showed the pic to Greg and Natalie and told them Jett was in the parade. =) They were so proud.

Okay and what's a fair without petting the baby chicks?

And the bunnies?

And ice cream from the dairy barn?

Darin told Natalie that the only way we'd watch him is if he could have ice cream from the dairy barn. There are no substitutes with this ice cream, people. It's amazing. And the only thing at the fair that has never appreciated in price. Seriously, $8 to get in? $5 for a hamburger? Um, we'll have the best ice cream ever created... for $2... thanks.

Did everyone catch baby Jett's supa cute band t-shirt? Yeah, his name was on the back. SO stinking cute!!!

And look to the below post for my bro's band in action!!!

Gotta love the county fair. It is expensive. Rumor has it in our town the 'fair board' is making quite a bit of money from over pricing everything.
The vengeful Amish with Jett and Darin made me laugh!
