The Good News...
Darin and I are expecting!!! I have a bun in the oven!!
We are SO incredibly excited!!! Words can't even describe what we are feeling. I was having some weird symptoms for about 2 weeks and I was being pessimistic and not taking a test.
Yeah, I'm dumb like that.
We'd actually been trying for 6 months and I guess a part of me just didn't want to be disappointed again, you know? But anywho.. Friday I took the test and it said PREGNANT!! I cried, said "No way!" and shook the test to make sure that it wasn't lying (yeah, I'm sure that helped). Darin had already left for an FCA meeting at the HS he coaches at so I couldn't tell him right away. =) Soooo.. I stopped by later that day to the church and he was in our youth room practicing his chapel (bible study) for the football team he was giving that night. We small talked and then I couldn't take it anymore!! I told him to close his eyes and hold out his hands.. I then put the bib in his hands that you see in the above picture. He opened his eyes and yelled,
"I KNEW IT!"
He'd been wondering if all my weird symptoms were because I was pregnant but didn't want to tell me to take a test.. he didn't want me to be discouraged if it was negative. So yeah.. we kept it a secret all Friday (cept' for a few peeps and my sis, of course) which is HUGE for us. We both aren't so keen on secrets. Or good at keeping them.
Saturday we moved which wasn't as sad as I thought it would be!! I guess we had other things on our minds to be too emotional. This is what our house looked like. =(
We moved all of our belongings from the old house to the new house's garage in 2 hours flat! It was completely amazing. The ministry kicks hiney in that way too.. you have a need or request and church peeps SHOW UP!!! So, so awesome!!
So yeah, we completely lied to my dad and my mother in law.. we told them to grab a box and put it in our second bedroom. The second bedroom that said this:
Kathy, my mother in law, reached the bedroom first with my dad shortly behind her. It took her a second to read it and then she looked at me. Looked at Darin. And then looked at the sign again and said, "OHH!!!!!" My dad then says, "Does that say what I think it says?" And then got quiver chin which always makes me cry. Seeing your dad cry is just the best.
So yeah, we are EXTREMELY excited and feel so, so blessed. God is so stinking amazing and it took 6 months to make this baby cuz it's the EXACT person He wants on this earth. Wow.. God is good!!! I cannot wait to meet this little human that God is forming as we speak. =)
