Sorry for the lack of bloggage for the past week! We were busy but couldn't tell you what we were doing. =/ One of those weeks.
Just thought I'd update you all on what's going on with us.

***Lately when Darin comes home Adie asks for a "Ho-sey ride" which is a ride on his shoulders and then she wants to go read books on our bed. This is perfect for me because it gives me a chance to finish up dinner without a 2-footer at my feet.
The other day they were in there for a LONG time so I went in to see if Darin was enjoying reading the books by himself or if she was actually listening to all the books. (Her attention span is usually about 5 minutes with books) Darin read an ENTIRE Berentstien book which is kinda a long one. Was she totally enthrawed with the story? Is her attention span remarkably growing?
nope.
She was picking her nose.
For the entire book.
***We are going to put my Accord up for sale within the next few days in order to purchase a MINI VAN. Yes, it's very humbling but the other night I was dreaming about having a van. Not hitting my head on the door frame when I get Adie out... being able to fit more than just her stroller in the trunk... yeah.
The problem is..
I LOVE MY CAR.
Like it's really stupid how much I love my Honda. My next blog post will be dedicated to it I'm that crazy about it. So stay tuned to see how YOU may be the next owner of amazing car. Ah.. I can't think about it or I get super sad.
Oh, and if you are a mini-van owner, I would love to know what brand you reccomend. We've done a little research and are interested in Saturn Relay's and Kia Sedona's thus far. I'm big on foreign and Darin really likes Saturns. I would love an Odessey but we can't afford one that doesn't have 100,000 miles on it! So yeah, tell me what mini-van you drive and if you like it or not!
***Yesterday I painted Adie's finger nails for the first time. She sat SO STILL and LOVES them! She blew on them to dry them for about an hour after I painted them. It was so funny too because she kept showing Wrigley her manicure. Not sure he cared but he enjoyed the attention! Here she is showing you her pretty nails...
You can really only see a few of her nails but you get the idea. =)
***After I take a picture of her she now says "see it". I didn't even teach her this! Girl after my own heart.
*** I added a new feature to the side of my blog.. "scrapbooking for others". I've been super busy making pages for Darin's cousin Lisa and she gave me permission to show you guys. =) And the pages I do for my nephews are also located there. I'll keep my normal "scrapbooking pages" for my family pages. Check em' out on the sidebar.
***Speaking of pictures, the other day she saw a framed picture of herself at about 6 months.. she turned to me and said, "Baby sisser".

Although I'm pretty sure when baby JJ comes she might not be so understanding why all the attention isn't on her all the time. =/
***The other night we went to a high school basketball game. Darin has recently created a piece of equipment that allows his polevaulters to vault indoors and he was showing me his invention. The drum core was in there practicing for the half-time show and I was talking to thier coach whom I attend MOTTT'S with. She asked me what sports Darin coached and I said football and track to which she replied...
"oh.. I should have remembered he coached girls track. Some of my girls want to go out because they think he's so hot. Actually, all my girls think he's hot."
His first year he had 12 girls in track. This year he has 47.
That's like 1/2 the girls in the school and I'm not kidding. It's a small school.
Um.. I'd like to think it's because there are some serious runners that have moved up to the HS but I'm pretty sure he's got amazing numbers because he's a hottie. Oh the price you pay for having a hottie-head hubby.
Hey, I'm birthing his babies.. his babies mama... back off ladies!
***Last Adie story... Adie has recently learned what boobies are. She knows where mommy's boobies are and will pull up her shirt and show you where her boobies are. (She did NOT inherit this from me.. promise) The other day she saw me in my skivies, pointed at my big ol' belly and said "Boobie!"
So she kinda gets where the boobies are!

I really LOVED my Sentra, too, but after three months of climbing over my three year old's carseat to get the baby's carrier out of the middle seat (it was too big to rearface anywhere else), I was okay with getting something else. There was no way we could afford ANYthing, but God provided through my in-laws, who were downsizing from their Odyssey to something smaller and sold it to us at an incredible price. It had 107,000 miles on it and we've since put 25-40,000 more. I might reconsider if you find a Honda in good shape, even if it has high miles. (Hubby is about cars the way your Darin is about building things, and he says 100,000 miles on a Honda engine isn't really a big deal. The body will fall apart before the engine will! lol) We had to replace a relay thingy in the AC because there was a apparently a glitch in the 2002 Odysseys, but otherwise we have had NO problems. (And that was minor/inexpensive.) If you find an older one and are considering it, feel free to email me and I'll get the details on that AC thing if you want. But I now LOVE my Odyssey, and I wouldn't go back to my Sentra for a million dollars! :)

We have a Kia Sedona and I really like it. We've had since July 2007. We have the base model, so nothing fancy. If I could, I'd love to have power doors, oh that'd be so nice! I love all the room. Our seats fold down flat in the back and the middle ones come out, great for transporting large thigns. It drives well. Ours isn't great in the snow though. And the sliding doors sometimes are hard to open. But we otherwise it's great. We've had no problems with it so far. I can't imagine not having it the minivan, it makes going places sooo much easier with the girls.
We just got a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. Got a great deal due to employee pricing and rebates. Got a nice loaded one for the one of the lesser models. Love the stow and go....and automatic doors and tail gate. Oh....and 2 DVD players!!! The boys love it!!!!!!! And mom and dad like going on road trips with him now! ;)
I think we have the exact same van that your sister has. I wouldn't give up on finding a used Odyssey. They are great. I've also heard good things about the Kia Sedona. I think that Parents Magazine has given it good ratings. . . Don't know if you are looking to buy new or not, but sometimes the Kia dealer down here will have a deal going that if you buy the Sedona you get a 2nd car for FREE. Now, I don't know the details, but that is what they advertise. . . also, we have a Saturn - just a car - but we have had great luck with it and really, really like the Saturn dealers. My sister just got a Saturn Vue and she loves it, too. I just heard that GM may sell or discontinue Saturn due to the economy. . . just an FYI. Anyway, you will LOVE a minivan. My favorite thing about the Odyssey is that you can move the second row seats together and create an "aisle" on the right hand side of the van. . . a necessity for us since we have 3 in car seats that can't buckle themselves yet. . . makes it so much easier to buckle Isaac in the back row without crawling around. Just something to keep in mind when thinking about the future. I think the Toyota Sienna does this too. And I've heard good things about the Dodge Caravans and the Chrysler Town and Country as well. Bottom line - you probably can't go wrong. . . Good luck! :)
What a cute picture & idea for a Valentine's gift. Funny funny about Darin & her reading a book. We have that same book so I can totally see how she was sooo into it. It's a cute story. I can't give you any advice on a mini van becuz I have no knowledge. We're not @ that stage yet. If we get there, I'm sure I'll be asking the same advice. Lover her nails. That's amazing that she sat still long enough for you to do her nails!
Hey! I realize you blogged this a LONG time ago, but I am just now getting time to get caught up. So, I thought I'd let you know that I drive a Chrysler Town & Country. It's a 2005, the first year "stow and go" came out. I LOVE my van. I actually am not a big fan of the newer versions. Anyway, not sure what your price range is, but it is a wonderful van. The ability to flip the seats into the floor is a GREAT feature. It seems to have a LOT more room than a typical van. Anyway, just thought I'd let you know. Oh, and I'm sorry about the potty training fiasco. Don't get down on yourself, though. She will potty train when she's ready. It's just hard knowing when exactly that is. Good luck, though.
