there were never such devoted sisters!
Can anyone other than my sister name that tune? It's from a movie.. that's the only clue you get!!!
Lots of people have asked me how Adie has done with the transition to sisterhood. She's done amazingly well. We weren't really worried about it but you never know what a kid is going to do when they go from being the only child to sharing the ol' time with the padres. We've only found a pillow over Joya's head once. And she was totally trying to play with her.. I think she was putting Joya "nigh-night". I think by mommy and daddy's reaction Adie quickly learned that putting pillows over baby sister's head is not cool.
Adie loves to hug and kiss her. And play with her eyes as seen in the picture below. What is with kids and baby eyes? Never met a kid that didn't poke at a babies eyes.

Adie loves to push Joya in her swing. Most of the time she does it too hard so now Adie asks... "too much? Too much mommy?"
And Adie loves to take things out of my kitchen drawers. As we speak Adie is using my pot holders to clean the floors. =/ For the below picture she grabbed my jar opener, put it on Joya's head and said, "Mommy.. Joya hat on!"
And every night when we read stories before bed we lay Joya down beside Adie and daddy reads a book.

Um, I thought I was the ONLY one in our generation to know that song and have it on my iPod!!! I LOVE IT! It's "Sisters" of course from Irving Berlin's White Christmas! I love the line "...Lord help the mister who comes between my mister...and Lord help the sister who comes between me and my man!" Awesome!
PS - Your girls are ADORABLE! You must be such a proud mama! How wonderful for you that Darin can be home all summer! Fun, fun!
Aw, what a great big sister Adie is!!! And what a laid back little sister, taking it all in without complaining! :)
My sister and I can sing the whole song, and give us a boa and a fan and we can act out the dance!
*Correction*
"Lord help the mister who comes between me and my SISTER, and Lord help the sister who comes between me and my man."
:) Can't believe I screwed that one up.
oh that is my FAVORITE christmas movie ever!!!! love that song. i love your post here so much. it made me smile b/c we are going through the same thing. our baby is 2 months and 2 weeks old now and our other daughter is almost 3. they are in love with each other too. the 3 year old kisses on the baby all day long (and loves her eyes...ha!) and the baby cranes her neck to find big sister and watch her. can't wait to see the friendship develop there! :)
Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby with the head bands on, sock suspenders and swinging those fans HIGH-Larious!!!!
Love White Christmas. as soon as i saw the line i just couldn't stop singing the rest of the song.
