A night away...

On December 23rd of this year I quickly ran out to our mailbox to pick up the day's mail before we headed to our every-other-year Christmas Cabin week with Darin's family. Opened up the box and out came an envelope from Ruth's Chris.
Hmpf.
This couldn't be for us, right? My idea of a splurge is to get a side of guac at Chipotle! Dude, it's like $3!!!
I opened it up to find a very generous gift card to Ruth's Chris and in block letters is said that it was from Santa and that we deserved a night out. It hadn't been mailed because it simply had our name on the front.. no return address either. Our anonymous donor obviously didn't care it was a federal offense to put something in one's mailbox.
Love that our anonymous donor is a trill seeker like that.
Makes it even more cool. =)
Darin's cousins volunteered to babysit (thanks, Matt, Chels and Amanda!) and we were off to Granger to dine last night.
Parked between a brand new Camero and a muy bonito Mercedes... we were a bit worried they'd swing their door open and scratch up the paint job on the ol' Saturn Relay Minivan.

Whew.
Thank the Lord they were super careful with our ride!
We were taken care of by a server and two assistants.
They swiped away our crumbs after bread.
We didn't have to ask for a table of four with one high chair and a booster cuz it was just us.
We were even classy enough to know which silverware went with each course.
We dined on $50 steaks and even got dessert.
I don't know who you are, oh annonymous, federal offense thrill-seeking donor.. but thank you.
Thank you, thank you.

We will probably never know who you are, but it was a night we will never forget. May God bless you just like you blessed us!
Picture outside our house before we left.. I REEEEEEEALLY wanted to take the ol' camera and snap pictures of each course, show our minivan wedged between the Camero & Mercedes and wanted take a picture of the really cool glass tiles in the waiting room but I thought that might be a wee bit tacky. And might totally give it away that we aren't normals at Ruth's Chris. =/

Sounds like the perfect "send-off" for a hectic week ahead as you are each busy in your own projects. So glad for the two of you. And by the way, I really like the picture of the two of you! Blessings on your week or Resale preps!
Love you, Kathy
