Ceremonial burning...

Yesterday was a very good Father's Day for Darin.

Was it the good church service?
Well, that was good.

Was it the yummy BBQ at lunch at my bro's house?
He loves a good BBQ but I don't think it was the highlight of his day...

Was it the movie we saw to celebrate him?
He liked it but there's one more thing that I think put his day over the top.

I'm pretty sure it was the ceremonial Darcy's-XXL-10-year-old-night-shirts burning.

I never knew my Darin loathed those things so badly until I started purchasing some new sleeping duds.

Yep.
Just ask my old roomdogs. They even made me my own "Life is Good" t-shirt for me to wear at my bachelorette party.  THAT'S how much they loved my shirts.

These stupid shirts have been apart of my nightly ritual for bout 10 years now. It's shameful to admit but I've been wearing the same huge and gross shirts for way too long.  They really are unbecoming...

This cruise coming up has prompted me to get some new sleeping attire.

So that only means that these shirts really needed to go....

Darin even took a turn...
And that makes one happy papa.  The shirts are no more!!!
Love you sweetie!

That is too funny! I took a marriage class a few years ago, and this exact same topic came up. I am so attached to my huge, old shirts and they are so comfy! I did update the night wardrobe a bit, but I still have those shirts tucked away in a drawer. I don't know if I will ever be able to part with them! Good for you, though!

HILARIOUS!
seriously, so funny. i guess i should now find out what steve thinks of my sleep attire.... considering its usually HIS shirts, i don't think he'd want me to burn them- but i'm sure he'd prefer if i wore something else!
