Our new church building!!!

Last night Darin and I went to work night at our new church building. The church has met at a school for the last 13 years... they've waited 13 long years to build a building of their own. We are only 3 weeks away to our first service in the new church!! Thought I would share some pics with you today...

First up we have the new worship room...

We'll be able to seat about 400 people in here. We're getting chairs that can be removed so we can have a huge area for a reception or could play basketball.

Next up, and my FAVORITE room.. the nursery and 2 year old rooms...

You know what that hole in the wall is for? If you guessed a FISH TANK, you are right!!! Now how cool is that? The room that I'm taking the picture in is the nursery and you'll be able to see the 2-year old room through the fish tank.. NO WAY!!

And I have to show you this picture...

because everytime I see it, I giggle. I know it's the back side of a shark, but I can't help but think that the shark is gunna be mooning all the little people. =/ Don't worry, shark hiney's will not be in the upcoming curriculum. =/

Moving on from mooning shark...

Here's another little person room..

A big ol' castle!!!

This is a cool room too..
A Jungle!!! Those chairs are taped to give them a leopard look.
One of the girls in my small group and a junior in high school painted the giraffe.. way to go ALLI!!!! Looks AWESOME!!!

Feeling a little space from all these super cool rooms yet? Check out this one...

Oh yeah, it totally glows in the dark when the lights are out. This is our middle school room. I'm sure they'll think it's rad.. Or stupid.. You never know what you're gunny get out of a junior high kid!

LOVE the little girls potty room!!

They painted the entire room in a matte color, stencil's a big ole' flower and then painted everything but inside the stencil a gloss of the same color. SO super cute and EASY!! We will be doing this technique in Darinette's room. =) NOT saying were preggers.. Just thinking of the future. =)

alright.. Saved the youth room for last because it's Darin and I's concoction...

We got a bunch of cool black and white poster/pictures at Hobby Lobby last week when they were 1/2 off. Darin looked at those poster frame thingies.. BORING and expensive. =( I suggested that we make our own frames out of black paint.. Chase and Kelly from the youth group (thanks guys!)helped us tape off and paint big ol' black squares for our posters to go in. This is the long hallway leading up to our big youth room. Darin's gunna get some plexie glass to put over the poster. Here's a pic of our black squares..

A stage is going to go in the middle of one of the long walls. On the wall behind the stage, we're going to get sheets of faux brick and paint them to make them look old and weathered. I knew the stage needed a little something more.. I looked at one of our black and white pictures of Paris and saw a light post on one of the streets.. WE NEED LIGHT POSTS on each side of the stage!! What would you know someone at work night has light posts.. and they work.. and they're kinda rustic looking? PERFECT!!! SO excited about our youth room.

Okay, so that's our church so far. I'll have to do an update when everything finished. =) You know, it's so exciting to be in a our long awaited new building... it's gunny have that "new" smell... it has cool murals complete with mooning sharks... and even has a little coffee shop. All this is great and dandy.. I KNOW this is what God had in store for the Community Church of Waterford.. to minister to people, create community, and to serve God through this church. But God isn't all about churches or religion.. God cares about what is in your heart.. He cares that you've accepted Him as your personal Lord and Savior. I love our new church building and am excited to see what God has in store for our community, but I am even more excited that I can call Christ my father, Savior, leader of my life and best friend. What an awesome God we have!!

Thanks for going on the CCW tour!!
