Snow Day

Um, more like Snow Day for 3 minutes. She got all bundled up and went outside to shovel the driveway with daddy.

Our pink snow bunny. =)

She did okay until she fell over and it was over....

We tried, sweetie! And it will make a great scrapbook page. =)

Question, oh blog readers. Those of you that have had a sinus infection.. just how long did it last? I'm working on day #5 of the piercing headache. I've finished the 3 day antibiotic and saw the chiropractor today and no relief. How long did yours last? Am I just being impatient? I am a prego grouchie with this headache. =/

Update on reading my teeny bop vampire books. I'm on book 2 about 350 pages in.. um, there are werewolves now. Darin was sitting beside me and I said...

"Darin, you would not believe there are werewolves against the vampires now."

And as straight faced as he could he replied...

"you know who's gunna save the day?"

I fell into his trap question...

"Who?" I asked.

"The unicorns."

And then I laughed for 10 minutes. It hurt my sinus head. Bad. But man he cracked me up!

Have you tried Eucalyptus (no idea how to spell that) Oil? You can put it in a vaporizer, in a bath, or sprinkle it in the shower when you bathe, in a pot of boiling water, dab it behind your ears... you can use it in a million different ways, or you can also use peppermint oil or oil of oregeno.

I remember when Braylon was Adie's age...he did the same thing...he liked being out there in the snow but as soon as he fell, his world fell apart, & he was done! This year (a year later), he likes it better. He of course doesn't like falling down & getting all wet w/snow (who does?) but at least he doesn't get "too" upset with it! I have not had a sinus infection so unfortunately I can't give you any tips. I'll be praying that you find R-E-L-I-E-F soon!

I am also preggo and had a sinus infection a month ago. The actual sinus infection lasted a week and a half. But I still have some effects...cough and drainage from time to time. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Hi Darcy,
I've been reading your blog for a while and can't help but comment on your question about sinus infections. I'm a medical student and luckily enough doing an ENT rotation right now. First of all, if your doctor put you on azithromycin, better known as a z-pack that's crap. You really need to be on a stronger antibiotic, namely amoxicillin or augmentin for 14 days. You should also use nasal saline spray which you can buy at a pharmacy. Lots of water helps as well as hot showers or hot washcloths on the face. Hope this helps and that you feel better.

Sinus infections can be hard to get rid of. I usually take a Z-pak (sp??) and I usually feel better towards the end of the 5 days. But I know that my mom, who gets sinus infections all the time, often has to get 2 rounds of antibiotics because she has a hard time getting rid of them. The headaches aren't fun at all and I sure hope you're feeling better soon!

Hey Darce! I would say that if you still aren't feeling any relief from you sinus infection, then you should at least call the Dr. office and let them know. You could ask them if there is anything else you should be doing. I hope you feel better soon. I had a sinus infection in November and I was taking an antibiotic and tylenol alternating every two hours to help relieve the pain and pressure on my head. Emily

Hey thats okay that you didn't invite me in I was on my way to a basketball game and couldn't really talk anyways. I hope you get to feeling better. I heard of this thing you can buy at the drug store it's like a sinus pot and you pore it into your nose and it flushes everything out... some people swear by it. But they say it's hard to get used to b/c you feel like you are drowning. I donno if you get desperate enough maybe you could try that. Hope you feel better.

I'm with Jeni...Mrs. Shoe just told me about that sinus flush too. And it's a natural thing so it's safe for preggers:) She also said you wouldn't believe all the gross blockage that all comes out the other nostril too! Grrrooss! I told Darin about it too...so I'd go that route since you're so miserable! And school is goin great! We have our moments, but taking a day at a time:) Thanks for thinkin' of me:) Miss ya!

Hopefully you are feeling better by now but just thought I would put in my two cents. I agree with the other girls, a Netty pot is a life saver. I've had allergies all my life and sometimes have the pleasure of getting a cold and have allergy problems all at the same time. My Netty pot is the only thing that really works!
