We love Spring Break!!!

Hey all! Again.. sorry for the lack of bloggage. Darin's been on Spring Break AND my sister with the twins has been here all week so we've been busy, busy! We've had a little leasure this break and have gotten some things done so I'll share some tid-bits of Spring Break with you!

We took a mini vacation to Indy on Monday night just to get away before baby JJ comes. We stayed in the coolest hotel in the Old Union Station which they converted to a Crowne Plaza.

They actually kept some of the trains in the hotel and converted them to hotel rooms. Didn't stay in any of those, but took this fun picture for you...

HIJACKED BLOG BY DARIN HIMSELF:

Let me give you a few more details about how awesome this hotel was. When you walk into the middle of the hotel it is wide open. There were huge steel I-Beams supporting the structure. You could almost imagine the station full of trains and people. I was pretty excited. As we walked toward our room we were walking by the old train cars. I was thinking, "I can't believe we get to stay by these trains!" Then I realize that our room is around the corner...stuck in a plain hallway. I was very disappointed as I walked into our room until I realized that we were now in the south west corner of the hotel. My heart skipped a beat. Like a lion chasing a zebra I sprinted to the window. I threw back the curtain and saw our view:

Darcy again. Darin is so funny about his Colts.. we were driving up to our hotel and in the corner of our windshield he could see a poster of the FEET of a Colts player on the Stadium. (The poster to the left on the picture above) He turns to me and says,

"It's Payton Manning in the shot-gun ready to take a snap."

And low-and-behold.. we pull up closer and see the entire picture and it was in fact Manning in the shot-gun ready position ready to take a snap. My Darin knows his Colts feet.

We took Adie to the Children's Museum and for the most part she was a bit too young for the exhibits...

This spring break Adie learned something new... it's called THROWING MASSIVE FITS.

Who'da guessed that her favorite exhibits would be the trains...

And sitting in the race car...

After both these pictures she threw MASSIVE FITS because we made her leave. Darin didn't get a break from his students fits this week because his daughter has learned the art of throwing herself on the ground screaming, flaling around and even trying to hit us. Last night Adie wouldn't pick up her toys at Greg and Natalie's and Darin spent 40 minutes in their bedroom in the battle of the wills until she picked up the blocks. Let's just say daddy won. Keep that in mind, baby girl.. mommy and dadddy will always win.

Anywho... it was a great get-away and the rest of the week Darin's been busy on our master bathroom! Here's what he's gotten finished...

Our padded headboard...

(Totally cheap.. I think we spent $50 total with fabric and wood and everything.)

A tiled shower...

This pic is to show my super cool ledge Darin built and to show one of my readers what hair product I use for my curls. =) And now you all know what kind of shaving cream I use on the ol' gammers too.

I have tried MANY curly hair products and the best combo I've found is Catwalk curl stuff with Herbal Essance mousse. It is SO HARD to find good curl stuff that doesn't make your curls as stiff as a twig or curls way too soft that you can only get one day out of them. So yeah.. LOVE the Catwalk.

And here is my happy worker just minutes ago.. today he's working on getting our sinks in. (We also have a tiled vanity)

Also took some prego pics of my sis. Here are a few of my faves!

This is a silloutte by our front door...
And another...

She's due just 5 weeks after we are. Yeah for the second round of babies!!!

The picture of Adie in that race car at the children's museum... I have a picture of me in that exact same car when I was really little too! How funny.

Aww..sorry about the massive fits. Every time Amaya throws one, I have to remind myself that kids this age don't know how to deal with their emotions so it all comes out in a fit. =) It helps me to have patience with her - although some days I definitely don't want to. I also have to remind myself that all my hard work will one day pay off. I love that: "Mommy and Daddy will always win." Esther (my sister) and doug and the kids were at the Children's Museum this week too. Maybe even the same day. Did you check out the water area? When Chad and I took my nephews a few years ago that was their favorite part. I think they were just over 2 years old.
